Fermata's double-page ad at Radiolandia n. 397 - 15 April 1963.
1963
Fermata and RGE - which released records of Atco, Cameo, Parkway, Ariola and Atlantic - double-page ad in 1965
Fermata versus RGE... it's all in the family in 1965.
FB-4 'O fabuloso Bobby Rydell'
FB-6 - 'Twist with Chubby Checker'
FB-7 - 'Let's twist again' - Chubby Checker could do no wrong in 1962.
FB-8 - 'Yous twist party' with the King of Twist; it was like a twist-greatest hits.

FB-9 -= 'For twisters only' - Chubby Checker's 4th album in a row.

FB-10 'It's pony time' - Chubby Checker
FB-17 - Bernie Lowe & his orchestra plays 'The twist' as if it were Benny Goodman...
FB-19 - 'It's mashed potato time' featuring 'Mashed potato time' which went up to #2 at Billboard on 5 May 1962, and stayed there for 2 weeks. 'Mashed potato time' went to #1 at Cash Box on 28 April 1962.
F-24 Chubby Checker - Bobby Rydell
F-28 - Chubby Checker 'Twistin' round the world' hits again with 'Hava-nagila'.
FB-38 'Sob o sol tropical' (Unter südlicher Sonne) Greek singer Jimmy Makulis sings in German.
FB-44 - Chubby Checker & Dee Dee Sharp really swing, twist and mash-potato...
(FB-47) This is probably one of the most-heard album I have ever had in my life. My older brother once brought it home; he had been given the album as payment for something that was owed to him. The disc was actually warped; it must have been exposed to sun rays; it 'swam' on the turntable but it played all right. I still know most of the songs by heart. My favourite was 'Any day now', 'Playboy', 'Don't play that song (You lied)', 'Party lights', 'The wah-watusi', 'Breaking up is hard to do' and 'The locomotion'...
(FB-79) 'Top Hits by Bobby Rydell'  was 'translation' of Cameo's 'All the hits' series or 'All the covers by our artists'; Rydell sings all the hits made popular by Dion, Steve Lawrance, Andy Williams, Bobby Vinton, Johnny Mathis and even... Little Peggy March.
FB-85 - Brazilian band-leader Carlinhos Mafasoli plays Italian hits that 'invaded' the Brazilian Hit Parade in the late 1963 like 'Legata a un granello di sabbia', 'Io che amo solo te', 'La partita di pallone' etc.
FB-095 - ALTA ROTAÇÃO 1964 - a German compilation album of 14 hits released by German label Ariola. Fermata released such a collection maybe thinking of how successful Italian compilation albums were in Brazil in the mid 1960s. Here's the list: 1. Gaucho Mexicano - Renate und Werner Leismann; 2. Rosen haben Dornen - Carmela Corren; 3. I love you - Die Musikboxer; 4. Geh' nicht zu den Indios - Gunnar Wiklund; 5. Piccolina - Jan & Kjeld; 6. Im Tal der blauen Berge - Peter Hinnen; 7. Rosmarie - Die Musikboxer;  Seiten B:  1. Siebentausend Rinder - Peter Hinnen; 2. Im kleinem Dorf am Rio Grande - Renate und Werner Leismann; 3. Pepino - Fredy Brock; 4. 1999 - Die Musikboxer; 5. Ob in Bombay, ob in Rio - Anita Traversi; 6. Schenk mir einen Talisman - Die Musikboxer; 7. Wilhelm Tell Twist - Charlie Cotton & His Twist-Makers.
Mina (FB-99) Italy's greatest sensation was poorly assessed by Fermata's Brazilian executives. Brazilians were deeply in love with Italian music in 1964 and this album contained material that was irrelevant at the time. 'E se domani' is the only good song in this hodge-podge concocted in hell.
(103) 'Um pedaço de Liverpool' released in late 1965.
'Garden party by Bobby' (FB-107), a compilation album by German label Ariola.
FB-106 - 'Made in Italy 1965' (XV Festival de San Remo) - Even though Fermata trumpets they are songs from the Festival, it actually contains only 3 songs from San Remo; the other two-thirds are made up of older hits by other artists.
FB-109 - 'Amore scusami' with John Foster; back-cover tells his name is Paolo Occhipinti and was a journalist before becoming a romantic singer.
FB-117 -  Martha & the Vandellas' 'Dance party' featured 'Dancing in the street'.
FB-124 - Ary Toledo no Fino da Bossa - album recorded live from a TV show MCed by Elis Regina.
(FB-127) Argentine rock band The Shakers.
FB-130 - Tijuana Brass play 'Tijuana taxi', 'Spanish flea' etc.
Bossa Jazz Trio (FB-133) were made up with Amilson Godoy (pianist like his brother Amilton at Zimbo Trio), Jurandyr Meirelles (double-bass) & Jose Roberto Sarsano (drums).
FB-134 - San Remo '66 - live recording done through Radio Monte Carlo
FB-137 - A bossa do Toquinho.

FB-140 - 'I hear a symphony'; no matter how beautiful Supremes's songs were they would not play on Brazilian radio.
FB-146 - Chris Montez's 'The more I see you' (A&M)
FB-150 - Brazilian Bossa Nova-jazz combo Manfred Fest Trio tackle The Beatles repertoire under the pseudonym of Os Sambeatles and turn it into samba-jazz.
FB-156 - Milva sings 'Nessuno di voi' her San Remo '66 entry.
this is the original Cetra sleeve.
(159) Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 was a breakthrough album in the US market. Even though it was panned by Brazilian critics who could not understand Mendes 'americanization' the album was fantastic.
(FB-165) Argentine rock-band The Shakers featuring 'Never, never' their greatest hit ever.
(FB-166) Endrigo's first album after he left RCA Italiana for Fonit-Cetra. 'Mani bucate' was the 1st single out of it; 'Adesso si' was introduced at San Remo 1966; 'Teresa' is perhaps the sweetest song.

FB-170 Michel Polnareff with 'Love me please love me' his greatest hit ever.
FB-173 - Chris Montez's 2nd album was very good too. He sings 'Girl from Ipanema' among others.

FB-176 - Nini Rosso had been tremendously successful since his 'Il silenzio' went to #1 world-wide in 1965. This is his 2nd album, containing Brazilian hit 'Carcara' made popular by Maria Bethania.
'As 13 da sorte' (The 13 lucky ones) (FB-179) followed the same idea as CBS's 'As 14 Mais' and Copacabana's '14 Maiorais'; Fermata subtracted one song and gambled on the name 'Luck'. Actually all songs are from the A&M catalogue with Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Sergio Mendes, The Sandpipers, Baja Marimba Band. Chris Montez & Claudine Longet.
14 Sucessos de Milva (FB-182) - is a Milva compilation released by Cetra in 1961, Fermata was only 5 years behind.
the original Cetra sleeve (1961).
(FB-183) Two British musicians: Archibald plays keyboard and Tim the guitar... they went to Italy and recorded a whole album of 1966 hits for Style...
(FB-184) 'Equinox'  - Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 second album was as good as the 1st release; it had pearls like 'Chove chuva' and 'Night and day'.
FB-192 - Claudia Barroso sings mainly Italian covers.
FB-200 James Brown & his Famous Flames are back with 'Cold sweat'.
FB-201 - Os Solistas Alexandre Ramirez, Jorge Milas, Michel Verebes & Paulo Tracelli play favourite Festival-songs.
FB-203 - Wes Montgomery plays 'Eleanor Rigby', 'Windy' etc.
FB-207 - The Sandpipers' 2nd album featuring 'Cuando sali de Cuba'.
FB-209 - pint-sized Ed Carlos sings songs he performed at high-rating 'Jovem Guarda' TV show.
FB-211 - Arlette Zola from French AZ sings conducted by Bernard Kesslair.
FB-213 - Sacha Show is Sacha Distel at his best in 1967.
FB-215 - The Sound & Co. were probably an L.A. band that covered hits like 'See you in September', 'Windy', 'I dig rock and roll', 'The happening', 'Silence is golden' etc.
FB-217 - Sergio Mendes could do no wrong at A&M.'Look around' was the 3rd gold album in a row with 'The look of love' having climbed hight at Billboard's Hot-100. Dori Caymmi's 'Cantador' became 'Like a lover' and it's perhaps the best track in the album.
FB-220 'I can't stand myself when you touch me' - James Brown
FB-222 - Alladin Band was former Jordans's guitarrist Aladin trying re-invent himself with a new band.
(FB-225) Brazilian singer-song-writer Juca Chaves re-covers some of his old hits in Italian for Style in Italy circa 1964.
FB-228 - Mina ao vivo.
(FB-246) - 'Lontano dagli occhi' - Endrigo's entry at San Remo 1969 (Welsh singer Mary Hopkins sang the foreign section); 'Canzone per te' winner of San Remo 1968 (Roberto Carlos was his foreign counterpart); 'Dove credi di andare?' (San Remo 1967 with Memo Remigi too); 'Perchè non dormi fratello?' is a 1969 song.

FB-258 - legendary 1950s Cauby Peixoto is signed by Fermata. He had been lingering at RCA for a decade with nothing much to do but Italian-covers and it looked like he'd be doing the same old stuff here. He started covering 'Zingara', San Remo's 1969 winner; even Dora Lopes translated Alberto Rossi's 'Non c'è che lei' (Sem você) for her old colleague; Fabio's 'Stella' and Tom Jones's 'Delilah' (Dalila) completed the picture.
FB-266 - Gregorio Barrio de hoje - arranjos de Hector Lagna Fietta.
FB-268 - Mina aka 'Mina 1970' or 'Com açucar, com afeto' a Brazilian song by Chico Buarque featured in the album.
FB-271 - Irish singer-song-writer David McWilliams album featuring 'Days of Pearly Spencer' which had a fair bit of air play.
FB-274 - 'Pelé, Rei do Futebol' a production of  Radio Jovem Pan, a S.Paulo station narrating Pele's main achievement in the football field.
FB-280 - Portuguese story 'As pupilas do Senhor Reitor' was TV Record best remembered soap-opera in 1970, when it was still possible to compete with 'unofficial' government-sponsored TV Globo.
FB-284 - Dany Delmin, a French singer who worked in Agentina and Brazil since the early 1960s records a full album of French hits.

Fermata advertigins circa 1965.

AT-319 - Tomorrow is soon a memory / Swing me - Nino Tempo & April Stevens
AT-320 - I got you babe / It's gonna rain - Sony & Cher

Nino & April were invited to sing 'Stasera, no no no' (Pallavinici-Roncaratti) at San Remo Festival in 1964. Even though they were Italo-Americans they wouldn't have a clue as to the Italian language.
'Teach me, tiger-1965' was April Stevens greatest hit in Brazil.
